Following on from the success of the Map-Pak food gas analyser, AGC Instruments has launched the new Map-Pak 2 gas analyser range.

AGC Instruments will be exhibiting at Booth 13 at the upcoming CO2: Summit on the Slopes in Austria from the 12th to the 13th of March, 2019.

This new system is comprised of a NovaCHROM 4000 Gas Chromatograph using AGC’s own Thermal Conductivity Detector (TCD), TrendVision PLUS Chromatography Software and Solenoid Control Unit.

The NovaCHROM 5000 GC from AGC Instruments, using a Double Flame Photometric Detector (FPD), detects and identifies individual sulphur species as opposed to total sulphur values.

It is interesting to consider the following case whereby a consumer purchases chicken fillets which were packaged using modified atmosphere packaging. Upon opening the packaging a day later after it being refrigerated and well within the sell-by date, the smell of decomposing chicken was quite nauseating. Inadequate checks in the food processing chain had failed to identify that the means of preserving the chicken failed in this instance.
